BERKLEY-PENDELL
PIANO COMPETITION AND FESTIVAL APRIL 23, 2023
The purpose of the scholarship fund, annual piano competition and newly offered festival is to promote the cause of great music and to foster emerging pianistic artistry and excellence. The participating chapters jointly sponsor the competition and festival for students of active members, awarding honors, acknowledgment, and inclusion for performance in the Celebratory Concert. Competition winners are also awarded cash prizes.
In 1986, sister ISMTA chapters established the Berkley-Pendell Scholarship Fund in honor of Helen Berkley and Verona Pendell, founders of the original West Suburban chapter. The Fund is currently supported by all western area chapters, including Naperville, Salt Creek, and Waubonsee.
